Necessary Permissions?

Well... I've come to the conclusion that I should probably ask before I post. So I will be posting reviews for games one game at a time, after getting permission from the game producer.

Let me know what you think of this in a comment, the poll to the side, or both!

I am waiting for a response from the makers of several games, but this is a collection list, if you have a suggestion, leave a comment! I'll try to find the author, and will see if I can add it to the list. I would like the name of the game, and if you have a blog and/or forum and/or wiki URL, I would appreciate it.

    Great to see the list being populated!

    Why do you feel you need to ask creators to post reviews of their games?

    I'm sure no one would mind, but I don't think it's usual practice?

      Thanks! The list is actually mostly complete, but I'm waiting to hear back from game makers to post the games.

      As for why I'm asking permission, my brother pointed out that having some nobody tell the world said nobody's opinion on their game might be insulting. He was joking, (he doesn't think I'm a nobody,) but it got me thinking: and I started to wonder if they might actually be insulted.

      So I will have the poll up for a month, and will decide my etiquette on the mater based on the World Wide Web's anon opinion. Scary.

      While I understand that you want to get the maker's permission as a formality, there is also a large number of H-RPGs on various websites, such as Hongfire, ULMF and such where the maker dropped off the face of the Earth. Maybe if the poll suggests that you should just post any and all games, then you should put a disclaimer telling the game creators that if they don't want you to have their game on the blog that they just need to tell you and you'll delete the post or whatever.
